i cant wait for the holidays
gosh...
i am so stressed
one more chap of chinese to go..
almost there
shucks tagboard is not working tts irritating
very irritating...
i am at a loss for wad to do for UN
i hope i dun screw up
-cross fingers-
i really wanna do well in it
hahas=)
life is so unfair
some pple just have all the time in the world
pple like edwin
arrgghhh
he was towning today
while i was in sch listening to the geog lecture by dr carl grundy-warr
sighs.
at least i found it to be interesting though i was dozing off at a part
opps..
haha
but i learnt more bout cyprus today
and i wanna go to the buffer zone there one day and experience wad is it like
woah tt wld be cool
was reading Time magazine just now
realised how fortunate i am to be born in this well-to-do family in singapore
i live a life without financial problems, social instability, racial/caste discrimination etc
the pple the passage described are from mostly developing countries where the rich-poor divide is enormous.
the poor have less than 1 dollar a day
and due to this severe shortage of money they are unable to get basic necessities
they cant even have cooked food as they cannot afford firewood.
as a result they get indigestion problems
and there are pple dying from malaria
they know tt mosquitoe nets are available but they are simply cant afford it
even though it costs less than USD2
and this amt is heavily subsidised by charity organisations alr.
and to pple like us
USD2 is wad we spend so easily without thinking twice
on tt unnecessary pen/game of pool/ junk food etc
to us this amt is practically nth
but to this pple
having this ant of money might mean tt they will have less chances of dying from malaria.
i was tearing while flipping through the article
the pictures are so moving
the eyes of the young boys in one picture seemed so hollow
as if as they do not have a future ahead.
but in realilty these boys can achieve much more than me and you
it is just tt they lack the bare basics of food and sanitation
wad more bout education?
therefore i urge u all to donate generously not to some sch fund
but to an international relief agaency where lives wld be saved
and give our conuterparts in less developed countries lead a better life
something which is comparable to you and me.
as i was reading tt article more in depth
i had a strong urge to set off on one of these relief trips and help these poor children in both kind and aid
i mean look at it this way.
we blow 80bucks on a pair of jeans when we already have 3 pairs at home
why not give the money away and benefit these souls
give them a hope for the future.
i think i might sign up for one this yr end
maybe then, this might change my perspect of life
and i wld not take things for granted and be so impulsive and such a spendthrift anymore
